President al-Sharaa sends message of gratitude to Azerbaijani counterpart for the warm welcome

Damascus, SANA-President of the Syrian Arab Republic, Mr. Ahmad al-Sharaa, has sent a message of gratitude and appreciation to his Azerbaijani counterpart, Ilham Aliyev, for the warm welcome, generous hospitality, and genuine fraternal spirit that reflects the deep emotional bond between the peoples of the two countries.

“We have witnessed in Azerbaijan a state built by its people with determination and preserved by its leaders with wisdom. I hope that this visit will reflect the values of historic interdependence and cohesion that our peoples have experienced in our glorious past, and that we will move forward together to achieve a promising future,” President al-Sharaa said in the message.

The President added: “As I commend you for your efforts to ensure the security and prosperity of your country, I assure you that the Syrian Arab Republic will remain loyal to the approach of brotherhood and is keen to deepen cooperation in all fields, especially investment in the energy sector. Azerbaijan and Syria enjoy abundant natural resources and a distinguished location in the heart of the world, which, if established, would give them a significant advantage in the production and supply of energy. This would contribute to boosting the climate of regional peace and stability, in addition to opening the doors to cooperation through the exchange of expertise and technology to achieve common interests.”

President al-Sharaa concluded his message by saying: “May you be always well, may Azerbaijan remain dear and prosperous, and may our friendship remain as solid as the Caucasus Mountains. With the utmost respect and appreciation.”
