Damascus, SANA- Head of International Committee of Red Cross (ICRC) delegation in Syria, Stephane Sakalian has affirmed that coordination with Syrian authorities and all active parties on the ground in Sweida is ongoing to support the humanitarian response there.
“The committee is fully ready to continue working to face the repercussions of recent events in Sweida Governorate on the affected areas”, Sakalian told SANA in a statement.
Sakalian noted the visit of the committee’s staff to Sweida Governorate provided an opportunity to better explore the situation there and to expand the scope of response in order to meet the most urgent needs, in cooperation with Syrian Arab Red Crescent.
He added: “ICRC staff met families, social figures, and health workers to identify the most critical and urgent needs”.
