Beirut, SANA- Maronite Patriarch Cardinal Mar Bechara Boutros al-Rahi has condemned the terrorist bombing that occurred inside Mar Elias Church, urging the promotion of love, dialogue, and mutual respect as a path to peace in Syria.
According to a statement released by the Patriarch’s media office and reported by Lebanon’s National News Agency, “His Beatitude Patriarch Mar Bechara Boutros al-Rahi was deeply pained by the heinous terrorist bombing that took place on Sunday inside Mar Elias Church in Dweilaa district of the Syrian capital, Damascus.”
The statement affirmed that the Patriarch denounces all forms of violence and attacks on houses of worship, prayer, and innocent civilians, and called for prayers and unified efforts—both domestically and internationally—to foster a culture of love, dialogue, and respect for others, in order to achieve peace not only in Syria but across the entire region.
