Talks during the meeting also focused on the need to change media public discourse, without neglecting the government’s achievements during the transitional period, and to coordinate with the Syrian Arab News Agency (SANA) to accurately and quickly convey the media image, establishing a public opinion research center, and rehabilitating newspaper offices.

“Daraa was chosen for the first visit because it is the province that established the political momentum of the Syrian revolution,” the Minister said.

He added that the goal now is to listen to the challenges facing media work, provide the necessary conditions for success at both the official and private levels, and develop the work of the media directorates in the provinces to serve as a link between the local and national levels through new working mechanisms.

The Minister referred to the media situation during the era of the ousted regime, compared to what has been modernized now, including the launching of Syrian al-Ikhbaria TV, and sitting plans for new visions to the work of SANA news agency, the Radio, and newspapers to present a media pattern in a more comprehensive manner that suits the 14-year sacrifices of the Syrian people.
