Damascus, July 24 (SANA) Syria’s first Classic Motorcycle Rally (Harley) kicked off on Friday with the participation of more than 100 professional riders from Syria and several Arab countries, as part of efforts to promote the country’s tourism destinations.
The three-day rally began outside the Ministry of Tourism in Damascus, with participants setting off toward several prominent historical and tourist landmarks in the provinces of Homs and Tartous.
Organizers said the event aims to highlight Syria’s cultural and tourism attractions while bringing together motorcycle enthusiasts from across the region.
Syria is home to a rich variety of tourist destinations, reflecting thousands of years of history and diverse cultural influences. The country features UNESCO-listed heritage sites such as the ancient city of Damascus, the historic city of Aleppo with its famous Old City and citadel, and the ancient ruins of Palmyra.
Syria also offers natural attractions, including the Mediterranean coastline of Tartous and Latakia, the mountains of western Syria, the Euphrates River region, and scenic rural landscapes. From historic markets and archaeological sites to religious landmarks and traditional villages, Syria’s tourism sector highlights its cultural heritage, architectural legacy and natural diversity.
