Foreign Ministry, World Bank agree to expand cooperation in the next phase

Foreign Ministry, World Bank agree to expand cooperation in the next phase

Damascus, SANA- A follow-up meeting was held Thursday, between the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates and representatives of the World Bank, with the aim of building on the outcomes of the recent Spring Meetings and establishing a broader and longer-term partnership in the coming period.

The two sides discussed the progress made in the first joint project in the energy sector, which has entered its preparatory stages, as well as ways in which the World Bank can support Syria in the areas of public financial management, energy, education, and health.

The World Bank team expressed interest in working according to national priorities, agreeing to continue coordination to determine the next steps and to structure the partnership through appropriate mechanisms.
