Italy, Poland welcome EU decision to lift sanctions on Syria

Italy, Poland welcome EU decision to lift sanctions on Syria

Damascus, SANA-The Italian Ambassador to Damascus, Stefano Ravagnan, has welcomed the European Union’s decision to lift economic sanctions on Syria, reaffirming his country’s readiness to support the reconstruction process.

In a post on the platform “X,” Ravagnan stated, “As a European, I am proud of the EU’s decision to lift economic sanctions on Syria, and as an Italian, I take pride in the strong contribution Italy has made to this achievement.”

He added, “We wish Syria all the best in this new phase that is now unfolding, and we stand fully prepared to support the reconstruction process in all sectors.”

Meanwhile, the Polish Embassy in Damascus expressed Poland’s support for the EU decision in a post on “X.”

The embassy stated, “We have always supported lifting sanctions on Syria following the fall of the previous regime, and we hope this will bring greater stability and security to the Syrian people and mark the beginning of the country’s reconstruction.”
