Damascus, SANA- Ministry of Defense’s naval forces carried out a large-scale campaign targeting human smuggling boats.
“After clashes lasting several hours, the campaign resulted in the arrest of a number of smugglers and the seizure of weapons and equipment in their possession.”Defense Ministry said in a statement Thursday evening.
The ministry added that the criminals were handed over to the relevant security authorities for prosecution, noting that this operation is part of the Ministry of Defense’s ongoing efforts to curb smuggling operations.
