Damascus, SANA- Foreign Minister Asaad Al-Shaibani met Thursday with Ando Toshihide, Assistant Minister of Japanese Foreign Affairs and Director-General of the Middle East and Africa Bureau.
Ando stressed his country’s support for the Syrian people and its keenness to participate in international conferences supporting Syria, and its readiness to exchange expertise and experiences between the two countries.
The Japanese envoy pointed out that the future of Syria must be determined by the Syrians themselves, stressing their right to self-determination and the unity of Syrian territory.
For his part, Al-Shaibani noted during the meeting the necessity of strengthening relations with Japan and exchanging expertise to serve the Syrian people.
The Foreign Minister praised the support of the friendly country of Japan for Syria in the framework of reconstruction and the return of the displaced.
