On Thursday, Syria strongly condemned the Israeli occupation forces’ killing of a young man with special needs during an incursion into the village of Jamla in the western countryside of Daraa. It stressed that targeting civilians constitutes a grave violation of international law and international humanitarian law.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates held the Israeli occupation authorities fully responsible for this crime, stressing that ongoing incursions and attacks against Syrian citizens violate the sovereignty of the Syrian Arab Republic, threaten regional security and stability, and hinder recovery and reconstruction efforts.
The ministry called on the international community to assume its responsibilities by putting an end to repeated Israeli attacks on Syrian territory and compelling the occupation authorities to respect international law and UN resolutions. It emphasized that these aggressions would not weaken Syria’s commitment to defending its sovereignty and legitimate rights.
