Damascus, Sep.10 (SANA) The National Commission for Transitional Justice signed a memorandum of understanding with the Center for Victims of Torture (CVT) on Thursday to strengthen technical and institutional cooperation in supporting victims and survivors and advance transitional justice approaches that place victims at the center of the transitional process.

The commission said in a statement on Telegram that the memorandum is part of its efforts to benefit from specialized expertise in psychosocial support, capacity building and the development of professional practices that uphold the rights of victims and survivors.

Under the memorandum, the two sides will cooperate in several areas of common interest, including specialized technical consultations, guidance materials and knowledge resources, as well as workshops, training programs and technical mentoring activities tailored to specific needs. The cooperation aims to strengthen the commission’s institutional and technical capacities and support the implementation of its mandate.

The Center for Victims of Torture (CVT) is an international nonprofit dedicated to healing survivors of torture and violent conflict while working to eradicate torture worldwide. CVT provides direct clinical care to survivors, trains global partners in prevention and treatment, and advocates for fundamental human rights.
