Damascus, Sept. 09 (SANA) Syria’s National Authority for Information Technology Services has resolved the causes of blocking several IP addresses associated with email services after a comprehensive review of its infrastructure and technical configurations.
The authority said on Wednesday in a post on its Facebook page that its engineering team conducted proactive checks on all mail servers, including verification of Reverse DNS settings and forward-confirmed reverse DNS (FCrDNS) compliance, as well as monitoring the spread of the adjustments through independent sources.
Final tests confirmed that all four email servers met FCrDNS requirements, and the affected IP addresses were unblocked after the necessary technical measures and official procedures were completed.
The authority said the measures would enhance the reliability and continuity of email services, reduce the likelihood of the problem recurring, improve infrastructure readiness and strengthen the security of message delivery.
Reverse DNS and FCrDNS settings are among the requirements used by email service providers to assess the reliability of sending servers and help ensure secure and reliable delivery of messages.
Proper configuration, together with an IP address’s digital reputation and authentication mechanisms such as SPF, DKIM, and DMARC, can help prevent legitimate emails from being rejected or classified as spam.
