Damascus, Sept. 2 (SANA) State Secretary at Germany’s Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development, Niels Annen, and Syria’s Foreign Minister, Asaad Hassan al-Shaibani attended on Wednesday the opening cermony of the German House in Damascus.
A number of ministers, senior officials and heads of diplomatic missions accredited in Syria took part in the event.
The German House is expected to serve as a platform for strengthening Syrian-German cooperation and expanding engagement in development, economic and institutional fields.
The move comes amid growing contacts between Syria and European partners and efforts to deepen cooperation in support of recovery and reconstruction.
