Hasakah, Apr. 4 (SANA) Syria’s presidential envoy for the implementation of the Jan. 29 agreement with the SDF, Brigadier Ziad al-Ayesh, met with SDF commander Mazloum Abdi on Saturday in Hasakah to review progress on integrating SDF into state institutions and advancing the detainee file.

The talks focused on mechanisms for transferring prison responsibilities to the state and arrangements for continuing detainee releases. The officials also discussed measures to facilitate the return of displaced persons to their villages in western Tal Abyad in Raqqa, Afrin in northern Aleppo, and across Hasakah.

The meeting is part of ongoing efforts to implement the agreement and strengthen coordination between the two sides on security and administrative matters.

On March 19, the SDF released 300 detainees in exchange for 300 released by the Syrian government, marking the initial step in the integration process and in resolving the detainee issue.
