Ankara, Aug. 30 (SANA) A Syrian Interior Ministry delegation visited Türkiye’s Gendarmerie General Command as part of efforts to strengthen cooperation and exchange expertise in specialized security and training fields.
The Syrian Interior Ministry said on Telegram Sunday that the delegation visited the Gendarmerie Special Public Security Command (JÖAK) and the Gendarmerie Horse and Dog Training Center (JAKEM).
The delegation reviewed specialized training programs and methods for preparing personnel and units involved in operations and special missions, as well as police dog and mounted units.
The ministry said the visit was part of ongoing cooperation between the Syrian and Turkish interior ministries and aimed to draw on the Turkish Gendarmerie’s expertise, develop specialized capabilities and expand joint training.
The delegation included senior officials responsible for training, special missions, diplomatic security and international cooperation, alongside several Interior Ministry officers.
In May, the Syrian Interior Ministry’s Qualification and Training Directorate signed a cooperation protocol with the Turkish Gendarmerie General Command in Ankara to strengthen cooperation and develop security training programs.
