Damascus, July 1 (SANA) Foreign and Expatriates Minister Asaad Hassan al-Shaibani welcomed the completion of the formation of Syria’s People’s Assembly on Wednesday, describing it as another step in strengthening the country’s state institutions.
In a statement on X, al-Shaibani said the completion of the process demonstrates Syria’s determination to overcome challenges and continue building effective state institutions.
He wished the members of the People’s Assembly success in carrying out their duties and contributing to stability and prosperity in what he described as the “new Syria.”
Al-Shaibani also congratulated the Syrian people and thanked the Higher Committee for People’s Assembly Elections for its efforts in organizing a successful national process.
Earlier on Wednesday, Mohammad Taha Al-Ahmad, chairman of the Higher Committee for People’s Assembly Elections, announced the list of 70 presidential appointees completing the membership of the People’s Assembly. The appointees represent provinces across Syria and include professionals, community figures and women, who account for more than 21% of the presidential appointments.
