Homs, June 20 (SANA)– “Syria Recovery 2026” conference started Saturday, at Safir Hotel in Homs under the theme “Together from Recovery to Development,” with the participation of a group of specialists, healthcare professionals, researchers, and academics.
The event is organized by Med Global in cooperation with the Ministries of Health and Higher Education and Scientific Research, as well as the Syrian Medical Association.
The two-day conference will discuss the current state of Syria’s healthcare sector and ways to develop it through specialized sessions discussing health recovery initiatives, hospital support, scientific research, and improving the quality of healthcare, in addition to reviewing the health challenges and priorities in Homs province.
Dr. Ahmad Al-Masri, Director of the Medical Campaigns and Missions Department at the Ministry of Health, said that the ongoing partnership between the ministry and organizations operating in the health sector is important, noting that the conference represents a significant step toward opening sustainable avenues of cooperation with professionals in the sector, contributing to supporting health recovery efforts across various governorates.
In a similar statement, Dr. Zaher Sahloul, President of MedGlobal, explained that the organization began its work in Syria before expanding to 27 countries worldwide and reaching more than 48 million beneficiaries.
“The conference carries several messages, foremost among them affirming that recovery is possible through partnership between government institutions, organizations, and local communities”, Sahloul added
The conference aims to strengthen dialogue and exchange expertise among stakeholders in the healthcare sector, and to contribute to developing practical visions that support recovery efforts and the rebuilding of Syria’s healthcare system.
