Damascus, June 6 (SANA) Syria’s Interior Ministry announced on Saturday the arrest of Mohammad Bassam Hassani, who was involved in war crimes committed during the era of the ousted regime.
In a statement posted on its official Telegram channel, the ministry said investigations and evidence linked Hassani to crimes committed while serving with the Air Force Intelligence Directorate.
According to the statement, Hassani participated in military operations in the countryside of Aleppo and Hama and later joined the Hezbollah militia, where he was active in Palmyra and the Syrian desert and was involved in further violations and criminal acts.
The ministry said a legal case has been filed against Hassani and that he has been referred to the competent judicial authorities to complete the necessary legal procedures.
