Damascus, May 20 (SANA) Syria’s General Authority of Civil Aviation and Air Transport held talks with representatives of Egypt’s Hassan Allam Construction on opportunities for investment and cooperation in developing Syrian airport infrastructure and modernizing civil aviation facilities.
The meeting, held at the authority’s headquarters in Damascus, focused on strategic projects aimed at improving operational efficiency and upgrading airport facilities in line with international standards.
According to the authority, Head of the Authority Omar Hosari held discussions with representatives of Hassan Allam company on plans related to the development and investment of Deir Ezzor and Qamishli airports, including expansion, rehabilitation and improvements to operational readiness.
The projects form part of broader efforts to reactivate Syrian airports as regional transport hubs and strengthen their economic and development role during the next phase.
The authority said the talks come within wider efforts to attract investment and expand cooperation with specialized international companies to support development of Syria’s civil aviation sector and improve airport infrastructure and operational standards.
Hassan Allam Construction, founded in 1936, is among the largest engineering and contracting companies in Egypt and the Middle East and North Africa region.
