Damascus, May 19 (SANA) Syria’s Deputy Interior Minister, Major General Abdulkader Tahhan, met Tuesday with a delegation from the Office of the UN Resident Coordinator in Syria, headed by the UN Under-Secretary-General for Safety and Security Gilles Michaud, to discuss ways of strengthening coordination related to UN operations inside the country.
The Interior Ministry said via its official Telegram channel that the talks addressed security and safety arrangements for UN personnel across various Syrian regions, as well as procedures to ensure the continued and efficient implementation of humanitarian and development programs in line with international standards — safeguarding both staff and facilities.
The meeting was also attended by Colonel Abdul Rahim Jabara, Director of International Cooperation at the Interior Ministry, and a representative of the International Organizations and Conferences Department at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates.
