Quneitra, May 8 (SANA) Israeli occupation forces detained a Syrian citizen on Friday in the village of Sida al-Hanout in the southern countryside of Quneitra province.
SANA’s correspondent in Quneitra said an Israeli force consisting of six military vehicles advanced toward the village of Sida al-Hanout, where troops stopped west of the village, blocked the path of several livestock herders and detained one of them as part of ongoing pressure by Israeli forces on local communities in the area.
The force later moved toward the village of Ruzaniyah and established a checkpoint at the junction leading to Sida al-Golan before withdrawing from the area.
Israeli forces had previously entered the outskirts of Sida al-Hanout on Tuesday.
Israel continues its violations of the 1974 disengagement agreement through repeated incursions into southern Syria, as well as raids, arrests and land bulldozing operations targeting local residents.
Syria has repeatedly called for a full Israeli withdrawal from Syrian territory, stressing that all measures taken by Israel in southern Syria are null and void under international law and carry no legal effect. Syria has also urged the international community to assume its responsibilities, deter Israeli practices and compel Israel to fully withdraw from southern Syria.
