Damascus, May 3 (SANA)     The Syrian Arab Red Crescent (SARC), the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC), and the Turkish Red Crescent signed a trilateral agreement to enhance humanitarian cooperation in raising awareness of the dangers posed by war remnants.

The agreement was signed by SARC President Hazem Bakleh, ICRC Head of Mission in Syria Stephan Sakalian, and Turkish Red Crescent Director General for International Affairs and Migration Alper Küçük.

It provides for the implementation of awareness programs targeting families in three camps in the countryside of Idlib and Aleppo, with the aim of increasing awareness of the risks posed by landmines and unexploded ordnance, helping ensure civilian safety during returns to their areas.

The agreement comes as part of ongoing efforts to protect civilians and strengthen community awareness of life-threatening hazards. Such programs are expected to reduce injuries and casualties and support safe and sustainable returns, highlighting the importance of humanitarian cooperation in addressing the consequences of war.
