Damascus, Mar 10 (SANA) Head of the Syrian General Authority for Ports and Customs, Qutaiba Badawi, discussed Tuesday with Lebanese Ambassador to Syria, Henry Quston, several joint issues related to border crossings between the two countries.

The Authority said via its Telegram channel that the meeting focused on the current operations at the Syrian-Lebanese border crossings, mechanisms to enhance joint coordination to ensure the smooth flow of travelers, the situation of Syrian citizens returning from Lebanon, and the procedures in place to facilitate their return to home.

The two sides also discussed the movement of goods between the two countries, particularly regarding the movement of shipping operations and procedures for transferring goods across border points, with the aim of facilitating trade and ensuring the smooth flow of goods in accordance with established regulations and procedures.

The Ministry of Emergency and Disasters Management teams continue to implement humanitarian and relief response operations to alleviate the suffering of Syrians returning from Lebanon, through the new crossings of Yabous in Damascus countryside, Joussia in Homs province, and al-Arida in Tartous,  in coordination with the General Authority for Ports and Customs.
