Homs, May 2 (SANA)– Four people, including three children, died in separate drowning incidents on Friday across Homs and Aleppo governorates, according to the Civil Defense and the Ministry of Emergency and Disasters’ Management.
In the western countryside of Homs, four children fell into al-Muzayna Dam while playing; one girl died and her body was recovered with residents’ assistance and was admitted to al-Hawash Hospital, while the other three were rescued.
In Aleppo, two girls fell into Lake Midanki from a rocky cliff, resulting in one death and one rescue by family members, while a third child drowned after falling into a six-meter-deep hole near Azaz, and a young man drowned in Saqiyat Jab Ghabsha in the al-Safira area; Civil Defense teams, aided by locals, recovered all bodies and took them to hospitals.
The Ministry renewed its call for citizens to exercise caution near water bodies, closely supervise children, refrain from swimming in rivers, dams, or lakes due to their inherent dangers, and secure open wells and holes to safeguard public safety.
