Damascus, April 26 (SANA) Syrian authorities held a consultative workshop in Damascus on Sunday to develop a nationwide public works program in coordination with local and international partners, including the International Labour Organization (ILO).
The meeting brought together Social Affairs and Labour Minister Hind Kabawat, Syrian Development Fund Director General Safwat Raslan, and ILO country director Mohammed Anas Al-Sabb, according to organizers.
Officials said the initiative aims to link short-term job creation with longer-term efforts to strengthen livelihoods, as part of a broader economic recovery framework.

Discussions focused on designing a program to rehabilitate critical infrastructure and restore essential services, while identifying priority sectors and outlining coordination mechanisms among implementing institutions.
Organizers described the program as a structured approach to recovery that combines immediate employment opportunities with longer-term development goals, rather than a temporary emergency measure.
