Homs, July 28 (SANA) Two people were killed and another was injured after a grain truck collided with a fuel tanker on the Homs-Tartous highway on Monday night, Syrian Civil Defense said.
The collision occurred near the junction of Hadidah village at about 9:30 p.m. local time, according to a Syrian Civil Defense source.
The source said emergency crews were dispatched immediately after receiving the report, but by the time they arrived, bystanders had already transported the injured person to hospital and removed the bodies of the two victims.
Civil Defense teams inspected the scene, confirmed there were no additional casualties and secured the area. The highway remained open to traffic, the source said.
The Civil Defense urged motorists to observe traffic regulations, reduce speed, maintain safe following distances and exercise caution, particularly on major roads, to help prevent accidents.
The Homs-Tartous highway is a key transport route in western Syria and carries heavy traffic throughout the day, including trucks and fuel tankers transporting goods and petroleum products.
