Damascus, April 27 (SANA) The Syrian Interior Ministry said on Monday its forces had dismantled a “terrorist cell” in the central province of Homs and foiled a planned attack targeting security and stability in the area.
The ministry said in a statement that internal security forces, working with the General Intelligence Directorate, carried out a raid based on intelligence information, killing two members of the group and taking control of the site.
The statement added that forces seized a large quantity of weapons during the operation, including anti-tank missile launchers, sniper rifles, automatic weapons and rocket-propelled grenade (RPG) launchers, as well as ammunition and grenades, which were intended for use in criminal activities.
The ministry said the operation is part of ongoing efforts to target sleeper cell hideouts and disrupt sources of terrorism, stressing its full readiness to confront any threats to citizens’ security and the country’s stability.
