Damascus, Apr. 26 (SANA) The Minister of Social Affairs and Labor, Hind Kabawat, met Sunday, with the Executive Vice President of Qatar Charity, Nawaf al-Hammadi, and his accompanying delegation at the ministry’s headquarters in Damascus. The discussions focused on deepening strategic cooperation in the field of social protection, with a specific emphasis on the sponsorship and comprehensive care of orphans.

Discussions addressed key challenges in the field, foremost among them database accuracy, the service quality improvement and, efficiency and the preservation of social stability.

The two sides agreed on the importance of organizing a national conference on orphans to unify efforts and enhance transparency in the provision of support, alongside launching a dedicated, specialized platform to facilitate the work of organizations concerned with orphan care and strengthen coordination among them.

Minister Kabawat stressed the importance of directing humanitarian efforts in line with national priorities, ensuring that support reaches beneficiaries effectively while safeguarding Syria’s social cohesion and institutional frameworks.

Qatar Charity is a leading international NGO that operates through more than 30 field offices and a vast network of partners across over 40 countries worldwide. The organization specializes in diverse sectors including humanitarian relief, sustainable development, and social welfare, focusing on long-term impact for vulnerable communities.
