Damascus, April 20 (SANA) Three people were killed and 21 others injured in traffic accidents and fires reported across Syria over the past 24 hours, according to the Syrian Civil Defense.
In a statement posted on its Telegram channel on Monday, the Civil Defense said that 14 traffic accidents occurred on Sunday, leaving three people dead and 19 injured.
Emergency teams provided first aid at the scene before transferring the injured to hospitals for treatment.
The teams also responded to 15 fires, including eight in homes and commercial shops, in addition to seven separate incidents.
One of the fires resulted in injuries to a man and a child, who were given first aid and then taken to the National Hospital in Raqqa. The remaining incidents caused material damage only.
The Civil Defense urged drivers to exercise caution, particularly in light of current weather conditions. It called for reducing speed, especially on curves, slopes, and intersections, and ensuring vehicles are in good technical condition, including brakes and windshield wipers. It also warned against distractions while driving, such as using mobile phones.
