Damascus, Apr. 16 (SANA) The Syrian Ministry of Information announced on Thursday the cancellation of licenses for all media institutions that failed to renew their permits after December 8, 2024.

In a ministerial order obtained by SANA, the ministry stated that, pursuant to the Media Law and in reference to its previous circulars, all licenses not renewed after the specified date are considered legally void.

The ministry granted the concerned institutions a final two-week grace period from the date of the order to regularize their legal status, stressing that this deadline is definitive.

It added that failure by media outlet owners to comply within the specified timeframe will result in the necessary legal measures being taken.

The Ministry of Information reaffirmed its commitment to fostering a professional, licensed, and transparent media environment that serves the national interest while ensuring that all platforms operate within the established rule of law.
