Damascus, April 15 (SANA) Airlines have begun restoring flight schedules to and from Damascus International Airport following disruptions to air traffic in the region over the past month.
Mustafa Khairallah, head of the media office at the Syrian Civil Aviation Authority, said on Wednesday that the airport is ready to accommodate airlines and passengers, providing a safe and organized operating environment in line with international standards.
According to updated schedules, Romania-based Dan Air is set to resume flights from Bucharest on April 15.
Air Arabia will begin operating flights from Sharjah on April 17 with daily service, and will add a route from Abu Dhabi on April 21.
Saudi carrier Flynas is scheduled to resume flights from Riyadh on April 19, while Flyadeal will launch services from Jeddah on May 10.
Earlier this month, the Syrian General Authority of Civil Aviation and Air Transport announced the reopening of previously closed air corridors and the resumption of air traffic through Syrian airspace, along with the return of regular operations at Damascus International Airport.
