Damascus, Feb. 25 (SANA) Head of the Syrian General Authority of Civil Aviation and Air Transport, Omar al-Hosari, discussed Wednesday with the Chargé d’Affaires of the French Embassy in Damascus, Jean-Baptiste Faivre, and a delegation from the French Corporation of Airbus opportunities for developing joint cooperation in the fields of civil aviation and air transport.
The Authority said via Telegram that the meeting, held at its headquarters in Damascus, addressed potentials for technical and technological partnerships.
Talks between the two sides come in the framework of the Authority’s efforts to modernize the infrastructure of the civil aviation sector and enhance operational efficiency in accordance with approved international standards, thereby supporting modernization and expansion plans for the Syrian air transport sector.
Both sides emphasized the importance of strengthening communication channels and exchanging expertise to serve mutual interests and contribute to developing the civil aviation system in line with modern technical and operational requirements.
Airbus is one of the world’s largest manufacturers of civil and military aircraft. Founded in 1970 as a European joint venture, headquartered in Toulouse, France. It operates in the fields of aircraft manufacturing, aviation systems development, and related services.
