Syria, Qatar discuss plan to rehabilitate Damascus airport road
Syrian transport officials held talks with a delegation from Qatar’s Urbacon Holding Company (UCC)

Damascus, March 10 (SANA) Syrian transport officials held talks with a delegation from Qatar’s Urbacon Holding Company (UCC) on plans to rehabilitate and upgrade the road linking Damascus International Airport to the Lebanese border.

Moaz Najjar, director of the General Establishment for Road Transport, discussed the project with the Qatari delegation during a meeting Tuesday at the institution’s headquarters in Damascus.

Najjar called for a comprehensive work plan and a clear timetable, as well as detailed technical specifications to ensure the project meets quality standards.

The meeting was attended by several senior officials from the institution, including the directors of maintenance, studies, traffic engineering and road safety, planning, and international cooperation, as well as the director of the Damascus branch.

Earlier discussions on the project were held in December, when Transport Minister Yarub Badr met a delegation from Urbacon Holding Company to review proposals for developing the road.

On February 25, Badr also reviewed progress on the project’s design study with delegations from Urbacon Holding Company and Lebanon’s Dar Al Handasah during a meeting at the Ministry of Transport.
