Damascus, Apr.4 (SANA) General Authority for Borders and Customs said that the Jdeidet Yabous border crossing with Lebanon is designated exclusively for civilian transit and is not used for any military purposes, emphasizing that no armed groups or militias are present at the crossing.

The Authority further stated that it does not permit the use of the crossing for any activities beyond civilian and legal frameworks.

Director of Public Relations at the Authority, Mazen Alloush, stated in a statement on Saturday: “In light of circulating warnings, and in order to guarantee the safety of travelers, transit through the crossing will be temporarily suspended until any potential risks subside. Operations will resume once stability is confirmed.”

Earlier on Saturday, the Israeli occupation army announced its intention to target the road leading to the Masnaa crossing on the Syrian-Lebanese border—opposite Jdeidet Yabous—claiming that Hezbollah militias use the crossing for military purposes.
