Aden, Oct. 6 (SANA) About 100 Houthi militia members were killed and 150 others wounded in offensive operations carried out by Yemeni forces backed by the popular resistance in the Taiz axis in southwestern Yemen, as part of the “Dawn of Yemen” operation launched Monday.

The Taiz axis media center said in a briefing on developments over the previous 24 hours that Yemeni forces had carried out five offensive operations on several fronts, including Al-Arbaeen north of the city, Al-Aqroudh to the south, Al-Anin and Jabal Habashi to the west, and the Al-Bireen area on the outskirts of Al-Kadha.

The center said the operations resulted in about 100 Houthi militia members being killed and 150 others wounded.

Yemeni forces also shot down five Houthi drones and destroyed or disabled six vehicles and a tank, according to the center.

Other fronts in the Taiz axis witnessed intermittent clashes and artillery shelling targeting Houthi gatherings, vehicles and weapons.

Coalition reports destruction of high-value targets

The Coalition to Support Legitimacy in Yemen said Monday that it had destroyed 324 high-value targets in conjunction with the launch of the “Dawn of Yemen” military operation against the Houthi militia.

The coalition said it was providing air protection for the Bab al-Mandab Strait and supporting the Yemeni armed forces on the ground.

Missile launcher, depot destroyed in Sanaa and Saada

In a separate development, Maj. Gen. Turki al-Malki, spokesman for the Coalition to Support Legitimacy in Yemen, said coalition forces had destroyed a Houthi ballistic missile launcher in the capital, Sanaa, and a ballistic missile depot in Saada.

Al-Malki said in a statement carried by the Saudi Press Agency, SPA, that coalition forces destroyed a ballistic missile launcher in Sanaa and a ballistic missile depot inside a mountainous site in Saada containing 20 ballistic missiles.

The announcement came after the Taiz axis media center reported the killing of about 100 Houthi militia members and wounding of 150 others in offensive operations carried out by Yemeni forces backed by the popular resistance as part of the “Dawn of Yemen” operation.
