Damascus, March 25 (SANA) Syrian Minister of Economy and Industry, Nidal al-Shaar, met on Wednesday at the ministry’s headquarters in Damascus with the Chargé d’Affaires of the Egyptian Embassy in Syria, Osama Khadr. The high-level talks focused on developing economic relations, building strategic partnerships, and enhancing bilateral cooperation between the two nations.

During the meeting, both parties reviewed opportunities to expand economic ties and increase trade exchange volumes. They also discussed mechanisms to develop cooperation across various sectors of mutual interest, particularly in industry and infrastructure.

Minister al-Shaar emphasized the vital importance of strengthening economic links between Syria and Egypt. He stressed the need to activate all areas of cooperation to serve mutual interests and support the dynamic movement of markets in both countries.

This meeting serves as a direct follow-up to the outcomes of the Joint Syrian-Egyptian Economic Forum held in Damascus on January 12, 2026. That forum laid the groundwork for enhanced trade relations and the expansion of commercial and investment cooperation, marking a significant step toward deeper regional economic integration.
