Damascus, March 18 (SANA) – Germany’s Chargé d’Affaires in Damascus Clemens Hach affirmed that Berlin will continue to actively support Syria in its path toward stability.
In a statement to SANA, Hach marked the anniversary of the Syrian revolution by honoring the hundreds of thousands who lost their lives in the struggle against Assad’s dictatorship, stressing that their sacrifices paved the way for Syria’s freedom.
He emphasized that this freedom must be preserved for all Syrians, regardless of affiliation, religion, or gender, noting that Syria has made notable progress over the past 15 months since liberation, though achieving lasting stability and prosperity will require continued effort and patience.
Hach also called on Syrians to overcome division and hatred and work together for a better future, reaffirming Germany’s commitment to supporting Syria during this phase.
Syrians mark March 18 as the anniversary of the Syrian revolution against the deposed regime, which began with calls for freedom and an end to decades of oppression, culminating in Liberation Day on December 8, 2024.
