Deir Ezzor, March 13 (SANA) The Syrian Atomic Energy Commission announced on its Telegram channel on Friday that its teams, in cooperation with the Syrian Petroleum Company, are carrying out radiation evaluations at the site of the associated water reinjection project.
The work includes removing radioactive contamination, treating affected soil, conducting detailed surveys of damaged tanks, and overseeing their replacement, ensuring that operations begin under the highest technical and environmental safety standards.
The water reinjection project is a strategic initiative aimed at protecting the environment by minimizing the release of contaminated water and mitigating its impact on soil and groundwater.
Through scientific oversight and technical expertise, the Commission seeks to support environmental sustainability and strengthen the national economy in Syria’s oil sector.
