Geneva, Feb. 27 (SANA) Social Affairs and Labor Minister Hind Kabawat took part as a special guest in a high-level session organized by Interpeace in partnership with the International Gender Champions Network, with the participation of representatives of international organizations and ambassadors of permanent missions in Geneva from Belgium, Sweden, Finland, the United Kingdom and Greece.
Participants also included several international organizations such as UN Women, the Intergovernmental Authority on Development, the Global Community Engagement and Resilience Fund and the Geneva International Centre for Humanitarian Demining.

The session discussed the relevance of the “Women, Peace and Security” agenda as an analytical tool and a roadmap toward inclusive governance, social recovery and achieving sustainable peace.
During her remarks, Kabawat highlighted the vital roles played by Syrian women in peacebuilding and community leadership during the years of conflict, stressing the importance of international support for local approaches and initiatives based on the needs of Syrian society.
