Beirut, Aug. 18 (SANA) Syria’s U-17 football team drew 2-2 with Lebanon in a friendly match on Monday at Fouad Chehab Stadium in Jounieh, Lebanon, as part of its preparations for upcoming competitions.
Abdel Hadi Maghmouma opened the scoring for Syria in the fifth minute, while Azzam Suleiman scored the team’s second goal in the 83rd minute.
The match was part of Syria’s training camp in Lebanon. The two teams will meet again in a second friendly on Wednesday.
Syria is preparing for the AFC U-17 Asian Cup qualifiers. The Asian Football Confederation has placed the team in Pot 3 for the qualifying draw, scheduled for August 27.
