London, Aug. 18 (SANA) Crew members were injured after an unidentified projectile struck a vessel transiting outbound through the Strait of Hormuz on Tuesday, the United Kingdom Maritime Trade Operations (UKMTO) said.
Reuters cited UKMTO as saying the attack damaged the vessel’s engine room and injured crew members, who were receiving assistance from the Omani Coast Guard.
UKMTO reported no environmental impact from the incident, while authorities continued their investigation.
Shipping through the Strait of Hormuz remains severely disrupted, with the number of vessels transiting the waterway still in single digits, compared with more than 130 ships a day before the war in the Middle East.
