Hasaka, Feb. 25 (SANA) Syria’s Civil Aviation Authority has launched a phased rehabilitation project at Qamishli International Airport to improve its technical readiness and restore full operations.
The authority reported that engineering teams have begun ground-levelling work around the runway and service areas to align the airport with international aviation standards.

Officials said the project includes infrastructure upgrades and improvements to operational facilities to boost safety and service quality.
The authority assumed control of the airport on 22 February following an agreement with the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF). Earlier this month, Interior Ministry officials met with SDF representatives to coordinate the transfer of administrative and security responsibilities.
