Damascus, Feb. 24 (SANA) – Syrian Interior Minister, Anas Khattab, said on Tuesday that security forces are continuing operations to dismantle ISIS cells and pursue remaining militants across the country.
In a statement posted on X, Khattab said terrorist activity is being observed closely, stressing that security forces remain committed to countering threats posed by ISIS and remnants of the deposed regime, particularly in Eastern parts of Syria.
He added that ISIS is attempting to destabilize areas that have recently seen improved security, including by recruiting young people, but stressed that such efforts would not undermine state authority or public safety.
Khattab went on to say that security forces had sustained casualties in recent operations, but efforts to confront terrorism would continue without interruption.
Earlier Tuesday, security officials in Raqqa said coordinated operations were launched following two terrorist attacks west of the city that targeted a checkpoint, killing four security personnel and wounding two others. One attacker was also killed during the response.
