Aleppo, Feb. 24 (SANA) – A tree-planting campaign was launched on Tuesday to plant 20,000 trees around Midanki Dam in the northern countryside of Aleppo, north of Syria.
The campaign is organized by the local agriculture department and the administration of Afrin town, in cooperation with the Ministry of Emergency and Disaster Management, with broad participation from local residents and volunteer initiatives.
Officials said that thousands of saplings have been distributed to residents, with technical supervision provided for planting and follow-up care, including irrigation and maintenance, to ensure sustainability.

The initiative aims to restore vegetation cover around the Midanki reservoir and forms part of ongoing reforestation efforts in the area to support environmental recovery and protect natural resources.
