Hasakah, Feb. 17 (SANA) – Minister of Emergency and Disaster Management Raed al-Saleh visited on Tuesday al-Hol Camp, east of Hasakah province, northeastern Syria, to review humanitarian conditions and assess emergency response measures in the camp.
During the tour, al-Saleh met with humanitarian agencies, aid workers and camp residents, receiving briefings on living conditions, service needs and the main challenges facing residents, including pressure on infrastructure and the need for sustained humanitarian assistance.
The visit is part of the Syrian government’s efforts to address humanitarian and security issues in the camp and improve civilian protection and basic services within the framework of national recovery and stability.
Al-Hol Camp remains one of the largest displacement camps in northeastern Syria, housing tens of thousands of people, including displaced Syrians and foreign nationals. The camp continues to present complex humanitarian and security challenges, prompting calls for long-term solutions in line with humanitarian standards.
The Syrian government took control of securing the camp from the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) at the beginning of February after reaching a comprehensive agreement to integrate the SDF into state institutions.
