Idlib, Feb. 17 (SANA) A delegation from the United Nations visited the town of Maarrat al-Numan in northwestern Syria on Monday to review reconstruction and service projects funded by UN agencies.
The visit included representatives from the UN Refugee Agency, the UN Development Programme, and the UN Migration Agency, who met with local residents and officials to assess progress.
Local authorities said discussions focused on supporting the return of displaced families and improving housing and essential services.
Residents returning after years of displacement highlighted both the impact of rehabilitation support and the need for employment opportunities to ensure long-term recovery.
The visit comes as part of ongoing cooperation between humanitarian organizations and the Syrian government to enhance services in the Idlib countryside and encourage the voluntary return of displaced residents.
