Damascus, Feb. 16 (SANA) The General Authority of Radio and Television announced Monday the completion of preparations to launch “al-Souriya” TV Channel, aiming to serve as a media platform reflecting Syrian cultural identity.
Director General Alaa Barsilo said the channel’s trial broadcast will begin at the start of the holy month of Ramadan on Nilesat.
The Director said the broadcast schedule will include cultural, political and entertainment programs, in addition to drama productions, noting that many Syrian drama stars will appear in new works this season.
On Feb. 8, Minister of Information Hamza al‑Mustafa discussed technical and logistical preparations for the launch with Barsilo and channel director Bani Faroun.
The General Authority of Radio and Television has been completing technical preparations and implementing training programs for presenters and staff to ensure content that reflects Syria’s post-liberation image and meets the needs of national media in its new phase.
