Damascus, Feb. 15 (SANA) Ali Keda, Assistant Secretary-General of the Presidency for Cabinet Affairs, accompanied by Minister of Culture Mohammad Yassin al-Saleh, toured the Damascus International Book Fair, visiting several publishing houses and reviewing their diverse releases.
During the tour, Keda listened to explanations from exhibitors about newly published titles and cultural activities designed for different age groups, noting the wide participation of Arab and foreign publishers.

He affirmed that this year’s edition is distinguished by its rich diversity and cultural vibrancy, offering visitors access to multiple schools of thought within one inclusive space. He underlined that the fair reinforces freedom of publishing and cultural openness, fostering trust among readers and encouraging transparent intellectual exchange.
Keda praised the active participation of Arab publishing houses, describing it as a reflection of deep cultural ties and renewed cooperation among sister nations.

He further stated that the fair signals Syria’s return to the Arab and international cultural map, as it hosts broad encounters between publishers, intellectuals, and writers from different countries.
Keda highlighted that the blending of Syrian culture with Arab and foreign traditions has created a dynamic dialogue and cultural interaction, reaffirming Syria’s historic role as a hub of intellectual and creative production.
The Damascus International Book Fair, he added, serves as a cultural, social, and political platform that strengthens national unity, social cohesion, and early recovery.
