Damascus, Feb. 4 (SANA) Syrian Minister of Public Works and Housing Mustafa Abdul Razzaq met on Wednesday with Acting Secretary-General of the Bahraini Royal Humanitarian Foundation, Ibrahim Dalhan Al-Dosari, and Bahraini Ambassador to Syria Waheed Mubarak Sayyar, to discuss enhancing humanitarian cooperation and supporting early recovery projects in affected areas.
During the meeting at the ministry headquarters, Minister Abdul Razzaq reviewed past programs implemented in collaboration with the foundation, including contributions to the “No Lost Generation” project supported by the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) in Jordan’s Azraq and Zaatari camps, as well as support for service projects in northern Syria, including rehabilitation of schools and hospitals.
Abdul Razzaq emphasized the importance of this cooperation in supporting government plans to restore housing and infrastructure, noting that current efforts complement the state’s initiative to gradually close displacement camps under the “Syria Without Camps” program.
The Bahraini delegation highlighted a new project to rehabilitate 470 housing units in rural Damascus and Aleppo, in coordination with the UN High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR), aimed at improving living conditions for affected families and promoting social stability.
The Royal Humanitarian Foundation, established in 2007 and formerly known as the Royal Charity Foundation until 2020, operates under sponsorship of King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa. It is a leading institution providing humanitarian, charitable, and developmental assistance locally and internationally, including care for orphans, widows, the elderly, and persons with special needs.
