Damascus, Jan.31 (SANA)– Tourism Minister, Mazen al-Salhani, said Saturday that the comprehensive agreement between the Syrian government and the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) represents an additional factor for stability and complements the recovery path that the Syrian State has managed to establish in various sectors, particularly the tourism one.
“This political achievement has a direct impact on the tourism sector, which recorded exceptional performance in 2025. Approximately 3.56 million tourists were received, with the number of Arab and foreign tourists increasing by 80% from December 2024 until the end of November 2025. This reflects growing confidence, the return of external tourism demand, and the sector’s ability to expand and achieve tangible results.” The minister told SANA.
“The increasing number was not a coincidence, but rather the result of a clear vision and accumulated institutional policies that focused on opening markets, revitalizing tourism activity, and improving visitors’ experience and the services provided,” al-Salhani added.
The minister pointed out that the recent agreement adds a new element of stability that supports expanding the scope of positive performance across the entire Syrian geography.
